Jonas Rathsman – Feel What I Feel (Extended Mix)
‘Feel What I Feel’, released on label French Express, is a cool deep house track with infectious vocal hooks. The song has a chilled out vibe and also uses chords slightly reminiscent of Steve Angello’s remix of ‘Perfect Stranger’ by Katy B (a favourite of mine during my uni days). A Swede just like Steve, Jonas is definitely one to watch and has been labelled as one of Pete Tong’s ‘Future Stars 2013’.
Sam Smith, Nile Rodgers, Disclosure, Jimmy Napes – Together
No – your ears aren’t deceiving you this silky smooth little number is the product of an exciting collab between my favourite duo Disclosure and the legendary Nile Rodgers, Sam Smith and Jimmy Napes. Sam’s seductive vocals intertwine with a funky bassline to create a slow jam so sexy it makes me want to slink out of my chair. And yes I did just say that.
Monsoon Season feat Miss Bee – Green On Blue (Moon Boots Remix)
So last week I threw in a bit of nu disco for good measure…then this week I stumbled across this cheeky track and I couldn’t resist doing it again! If you’re thinking the artist’s name sounds familiar then you’re probably right – earlier this year Moon Boots produced a cracking remix of Bondax’s Gold. Now ‘Green on Blue’ might not be brand spanking new but so good all the same.
Mia Dora – You In The Future
Let’s pick up the pace with house track ‘You In The Future’ released on Mad Tech by British duo Mia Dora. A great tune for the dance floor it begins with a variation of chords that take us nicely into the repetitive melody which continues throughout. Look out for the echo-y spoken word vocal bursts too!
