So festival line ups are looking pretty swanky this year so far, there are a few I can’t wait to be amongst the crowds of. I love festivals don’t get me wrong… but there is so much effort before hand/after; In getting everything ready, getting your camping sorted, packing up when you leave (unless you are one of those people who doesn’t clean up after yourselves…) It’s fun the first time, but by the third festival of the season things like that get old for me. This year I am hoping to avoid that at least once, this is by attending Dot To Dot festival. The festival is a one day event that takes place around three major cities of England (Nottingham, Bristol and Manchester.) The festival takes place around a number of different music venues in each city for one day each, so all your gigs are inside! NO MORE BEING RAINED ON!! Then after a wonderful day of beautiful music you can head on home back to your bed, or take refuge in a local hotel, or if you feel like it head out around the nightlife of your chosen city. I see no fault in this idea at all.
The festival isn’t just a good idea, it’s matched with a bloody good lineup too. Dot to Dot 2012 is being headlined by Brooklyn USA based indie pop band ‘The Drums’ and Leeds’ finest alternative band ‘Pulled apart by horses.’ There is a nice mix of acts playing Dot to Dot, not to much samey, but not to much different… chances are if you like one of the acts, you’ll like all of them. The festival takes place over The jubilee bank holiday weekend, stopping at Bristol first on the 2nd June and then Nottingham (3rd) followed by Manchester on the 4th.
