Deetron – Count On Me

And so I begin this week with Deetron and his track ‘Count On Me’ released by label Aus Music. I’ve selected this little number because I love the way the instrumentals build from the beginning. The melody slowly and gradually gets louder with the introduction of different sounds and crisp percussive elements until it reaches its crescendo with a powerful soulful vocal. Then the bass drops #winner.

Trumpet & Badman – Bang Dis

Up next we have a track called ‘Bang Dis’ from the EP Love Keeps Changing by DJ duo Trumpet & Badman. Now being that I’m proper ‘street’ and all that (I’m lying, sadly in no way am I street), I have to say it was the title of this tune that intrigued me to have a listen and I liked what I heard! The song itself is up tempo, heavy on bass and has some vocal shorts which chop it up throughout.

Celsius – Thirds and Fourths

Then a track I’ve been shouting (tweeting) about and have had on repeat this week – Celsius ‘Thirds and Fourths’ another gem from his EP Incoming released on the 7th October. The bass-line on this tune is huge. Once it drops, particularly mid-way through, you can’t help but want to hit the dance floor. Throughout you’ll hear short vocal bursts as well synths and strings, but it really is the bass that brings it all together.

Doomwork – Red Lips (A-Lister remix)

Who likes high hats? I do! And by pure coincidence I like the A-Lister remix of Doomwork’s ‘Red Lips’. A-lister, a Northerner like myself, is only the tender age of 23. What’s more he’s managed to produce a remix with a drop so good I think even Snoop would be proud. Yes, I did just say that.
