‘Knock Knock’ marks Band Of Horses first single since 2011’s ‘Dilly’ (video features bike gangs and that, they’d probably get on with Lucy Rose). It’s a got a bit rockier since 2011, with plenty of tempo diversity and thoroughly decent instruements. Its also a really good little video. They’re back, and they mean business.
The video for ‘Knock Knock’ looks like it was a fun one to film. Taking the form of wildlife footage entitled “Band of Horses: Animals In The Wild”, the song is broken up with comments from definitely not fictional zoologist Dr. A. J Soarie, some shots of sound technicians kitted up like Ghostbusters and a really massive rock face. Citing its locations as “The Arctic, Mirage Rock, The Kalahari, The Wild”, the boys get about a bit over the 5:14 micro-documentary.
There is an earlier Youtube release of the song without the narration and set to a progressive stop motion landscape montage. But the old geezer with the moustache is what rocks all about. If you don’t like it with him being in there you don’t share director Jared Eberhardt’s sense of humour and you probably don’t deserve access to Youtube.
