Sivu has unveiled a new video for ‘I Lost Myself’, which is due out on November 4 (Static Signal Records/Atlantic). The 24-year-old has also confirmed a joint headline tour with Marika Hackman for December, featuring a London date at The Lexington on December 11. Sivu is currently on the road with London Grammar, whilst ‘I Lost Myself’ was recently made Next Hype by Zane Lowe.
Directed by long-term collaborator and ex-flat-mate Adam Powell, the video for ‘I Lost Myself’ sets Sivu “on a voyage of discovery around California, where we lost our minds.” The song’s inspiration – the drug and alcohol culture James became exposed to when moving to London – are transported to downtown Vegas, and the 45-degree heat of the Nevada desert. It’s a sometimes-surreal clip, complimenting the lyrical theme of “getting bogged down by life, and wanting to go and destroy yourself.”
