With Beacon hitting number two in the UK albums chart, Two Door Cinema Club have given us a video for ‘Sun’, the second single from their new album. Filmed on the picturesque French coast (Le Havre, to be exact), it begins kind of mellow, with white, blue and grey tones accompanying Alex’s graceful lyrics. When that riff kicks in, as does a crowd of people; most are chatting, but there’s a cheerleader here and an American football player there. The majority of the visual takes place on multiple levels of white beach huts, with the crowds disappearing then reappearing again, and doing whatever they please like there’s no tomorrow. But despite the light-hearted dance sequences and the impressive use of invisibility cloaks going on around them, the band seem somewhat disassociated – Alex especially. This video has a lot of be fond of, and at the least it’s very refreshing.
‘Sun’ will be released as a single on November 19th.
