Bombay Bicycle Club are returning with their third LP, A Different Kind of Fix, at the end of this very month, and recently released new single ‘Shuffle’ and an accompanying video into the world to whet our appetites for the return of the London four-piece. The album marks a welcome return to the electric form of debut album I Had The Blues But I Shook Them Loose, and is said to be inspired by “bad habits and addictive behaviour”. We’re guessing those bad habits aren’t an addiction to Smarties.
The track itself has a loose hip-hop feel to it, avoiding the trad-indie choruses that so made up their 2009 debut and swapping them with samples, synths and layered vocals. All very forward-thinking. All very, very sweet on the ears. Check out the track listing for A Different Kind of Fix below, as well as the video for ‘Shuffle’ and a select choice from their excellent debut.
