Anyone who knows me is probably well aware of the fact that they won’t often catch me with any electronic music rattling around my headphones. I’ve nothing against it, it just ain’t exactly my cup of tea. So when something comes along and you see me playing the hell out of it, you know it’s the good stuff. The last few weeks saw Stew Green (that’s the man behind Carnivals, in case of you lot get confused) release a double single in the shape of ‘Absences/Ino (Parts 1 & 2)’, and deservedly get a little love from the likes of No Fear of Pop and The Line of Best Fit.
‘Absences’ begins hushed, hazy and heady, before driving into a full on glitch affair at around halfway, peaking beautifully for the final minute. Should I be naughty and say it could definitely soundtrack your come-down? Probably not. It is chilled as fuck though. ‘Ino (Parts 1 & 2)’, is a little more lucid from the off and certainly more up-tempo, drifting in and out with marvellous control, hand-crafted for something a little earlier in your night.
