October always seems to be a cracking month for bands; everyone tours, we all have a bloody nice time. This October sees Fossil Collective hit the road with Luke Sital Singh and with the lovely venues on the list it would be rude not to, really.
‘On & On’ is the eponymous lead track from Fossil Collectives new EP, released 22nd October through Dirty Hit. It’s really very lovely. The boys from Leeds have created a sound which is both reminiscent of Travis’s heyday, while quietly building their own rich structures and vocal harmonies. The result is mounting single note piano strikes before the guitar line breaks, and the vocals rapidly follow. The tune takes a repetitive form, frequently returning to its chorus (which repeats within itself) the boys have kept it simple and the result is a track which sounds like something you’ve heard before. It’s an old friend with a new haircut.
Check their official site at the moment and join the mailing list you can acquire a four track EP for zero money. And it keeps flipping getting better; there is also free soundcloud download of recent Frankie Goes To Hollywood cover, The Power Of Love.
