Seasfire-Undone

Seasfire join the ranks of musical gems that have emerged from Bristol. They’ve done some remixes for Miss Del Ray, a Lucy Rose cover, and have received an approving nod from The Guardian’s new music fella. But with no EP or album, Seasfire are slowly seducing us with a musical striptease. They’re not giving everything away. Yet.

‘Undone’ is sublime, and from the tracks around so far, a quintessential example of the melancholic tales of sex, love, and heartbreak that Seasfire are all about. Josh Thorn’s vocals are delivered with precision and the ethereal tone is supported by simple synth, and a dirge like drum beat. The lyrics and the music tell different stories; Thorn sings how “it’s harder than we ever thought. I try so hard to give you what you want. This love can’t be undone”, the bass line suggests maybe this love is already falling apart. Thorn’s lyrics get a bit explicit in places, as well. Naughty.
